Android: Go to Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Add eSIM. On Samsung, it is Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Add eSIM.

Check your EID

Dial *#06# on your phone keypad. If an EID (a 32-digit number) appears alongside your IMEI, your device has eSIM hardware.

Alternatively, check Settings > General > About (iPhone) or Settings > About phone (Android) and look for an EID field.

Check carrier lock status

iPhone: Go to Settings > General > About and scroll to Carrier Lock. If it says "No SIM restrictions", your device is unlocked.

Android: Insert a SIM from a different carrier. If the device connects to the network, it is unlocked. Alternatively, contact your carrier to confirm.

About smartwatches and tablets

Smartwatches like the Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch use a carrier-paired eSIM that is tied to your mobile plan and cannot be used independently with a travel eSIM.

Tablets with eSIM (like iPad or Galaxy Tab) may work with Halo, but we do not currently test or support tablet devices. If you want to use a tablet, the most reliable approach is to set up Halo on your phone and use its hotspot.
