Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 17 August 2026
Scope
This statement applies to the Halo eSIM website operated by Halo eSIM Ltd (“Halo”), including the destination and plan pages, the checkout, the help centre and the customer portal.
Halo is a website. There is nothing to download and no separate mobile version, so everything described here concerns the site as it runs in your browser, on a phone, a tablet or a computer.
The standard we aim at
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA.
That is a target we work towards, not a certification. Halo has not been assessed by an external accessibility specialist, and we do not claim that the site conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA today. The limitations listed below are the ones we know about. There will be others we have not yet found, which is why the reporting route below matters to us.
What is in place
The following are built into the site:
- A “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page, so keyboard users can move past the navigation in one step.
- Keyboard access to interactive controls, including the navigation, the destination search, the plan picker and the device checker.
- Visible focus outlines on links, buttons, inputs and expandable sections, so the keyboard position is always apparent.
- Text alternatives on images that carry meaning. Decorative images are marked so that screen readers skip them rather than announcing them.
- A declared page language, so screen readers use the correct pronunciation.
- Respect for your system motion setting. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site’s ambient animation is off from the first frame. You can also set that preference on the site itself, and your choice is remembered.
- Body text at a minimum of 16 pixels.
Known limitations
We would rather name these than let you discover them.
The support chat is difficult to use on a phone once the on-screen keyboard opens. The chat panel sizes itself against the browser window rather than the space the keyboard leaves behind, so on iOS in particular the message area can be pushed out from under the panel header while you are typing. The same sizing approach affects other sliding panels on the site. A fix is scoped and not yet released.
The support chat cannot be resized, dragged or swiped away. It offers a close button only. Other panels on the site can be dismissed by swiping down, and the chat is inconsistent with them.
The game is visual and has no non-visual equivalent. The game at /play can be reached by keyboard and announces itself to screen readers, but it cannot be played without sight. It is entertainment only. It is not part of buying, installing or using an eSIM, and no part of the service depends on it.
We have not completed a screen reader testing pass. The site has been built against accessibility guidance and checked as it was written, but a structured pass with VoiceOver and other assistive technology is outstanding. Until that is done, we cannot tell you the site has been verified with the tools you may be using, and we will not imply otherwise.
Parts of the site we do not control
The payment step is provided by Stripe and runs inside our checkout. Its fields, error messages and keyboard behaviour are built by Stripe rather than by us, so we cannot change them directly. If you meet an accessibility problem at the payment step, please still tell us. We will raise it with Stripe and look for a route that works for you in the meantime.
Telling us about a problem
If any part of Halo is difficult or impossible for you to use, email support@haloesim.com.
It helps if you can tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser or assistive technology you were using. Please only include what you are comfortable sharing.
We reply within 24 hours. If something is blocking a purchase or stopping you using an eSIM you have already bought, say so and we will treat it as urgent. If we cannot fix the underlying problem quickly, we will help you complete what you were doing another way.
Halo is a small, independently run company. That means we cannot promise every fix will be fast, and it also means your message reaches someone who can act on it.
Changes
We review this statement at least once a year, and whenever we make a significant change to the site. The review date is shown at the foot of this page.
