…I quickly jumped on my mac and opened up Halo on my web browser to quickly add a small recharge so i could use data and Find My to locate my phone. I found out it was in the taxi, got in contact and recovered my phone. This would not have been possible if Halo was an app!!…

Can I call and send SMS on my Halo eSIM?
Halo eSIMs are exclusively data-only eSIMs. While you can engage in voice calls and messaging through WhatsApp, FaceTime, and other widely used VoIP apps, traditional phone calls and SMS are not supported.

Is my device compatible with Halo eSIM?
Most phones from 2018 onwards support eSIM: iPhone XR and XS and newer, Pixel 3 and newer, Galaxy S20 and newer. If it's a reasonably recent phone, you're probably fine. Check our device compatibility page if you want to be sure.

When should I set up my Halo eSIM?
Before you leave, on Wi-Fi: installing early is one less thing to sort at the airport. Most plans start counting when you first connect at your destination; the exact rule for your plan is shown at checkout and in your eSIM page.

Can I top up my Halo eSIM?
Yes. Buy another plan for the same destination from your order page and the data is added to your existing eSIM, with no reinstall. Not available on Unlimited (daily) plans: buy a new plan when one ends.

Can I hotspot with my Halo eSIM?
Halo does not block or cap hotspot, so tethering a laptop or tablet uses your plan's data like anything else. Whether the local network allows tethering is set by the operator, and we do not hold that per plan.
