Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 20 April 2026

Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to all use of eSIMs purchased from Halo eSIM Ltd (“Halo”). It forms part of our Terms of Service. By purchasing and using an eSIM from Halo, you agree to comply with this policy.

Fair use

Halo eSIM data plans are intended for personal travel use by the person who purchased the plan.

Unlimited (daily) plans. Plans marketed as “Unlimited” provide a set amount of full-speed data each day – currently 3 GB per day. Once that daily amount is used, your connection continues at a slower speed for the rest of that day; your data is never cut off, and the full-speed amount resets the next day. Unlimited plans cannot be topped up. This is Halo’s fair use policy for Unlimited plans and applies in addition to any policy the underlying carrier operates.

All plans. The underlying carrier network may also apply its own fair use policies, including deprioritisation of data speeds above certain usage thresholds. These thresholds are set by the carrier and may vary by destination and plan. Halo is not responsible for any reduction in speed or service quality that results from a carrier’s own fair use policy.

Prohibited activities

You must not use a Halo eSIM for any of the following:

  • Reselling or redistributing the eSIM, its activation details, or its data connection to any other person
  • Commercial resale of hotspot or tethered connectivity
  • Using the eSIM for permanent residence in a destination country rather than travel
  • Network attacks, port scanning, denial-of-service attempts, or any activity intended to disrupt service for others
  • Transmitting content that is unlawful in the United Kingdom or in the destination country where you are using the eSIM
  • Spam, phishing, malware distribution, or fraud of any kind
  • Circumventing data limits, rate limits, or carrier controls
  • Impersonating another person or entity
  • Violating intellectual property rights, including unauthorised peer-to-peer distribution of copyrighted works

This list is not exhaustive. Any use that Halo or the carrier reasonably considers abusive, harmful to the network, or harmful to other users may be treated as a breach.

Consequences of breach

Halo may take the following actions in response to a breach of this policy:

  • Warning. For minor or first-time breaches, Halo will attempt to notify you and give you an opportunity to stop the activity.
  • Suspension. For serious or repeated breaches, Halo may suspend your eSIM profile without refund.
  • Termination. For severe breaches, Halo may terminate your customer relationship and block future orders.
  • Reporting. Where legally required, Halo will report unlawful activity to law enforcement.

Halo will act proportionately and will always consider the severity and context of the breach before taking action.

Reporting abuse

To report abuse by another Halo customer, email abuse@haloesim.com.

To report a security vulnerability, email legal@haloesim.com with “Security” in the subject line.

Changes

Halo may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in accordance with the Terms of Service.
