Can I extend an Unlimited plan, or what happens when it ends?

Halo Unlimited plans cannot be topped up or extended. Once the plan’s days run out, the eSIM stops providing a data connection. To keep using data at your destination, you need to buy a new plan.

Why Unlimited plans cannot be extended

Each Unlimited plan has a fixed number of days purchased at checkout. The daily full-speed amount resets each day within that duration, but days themselves cannot be added. There is no option to top up an Unlimited plan with additional days or data.

What happens when your plan ends

When the last day of your Unlimited plan is over:

  • The eSIM stops providing a data connection.
  • Your device may show “No Service” or reduced signal on the Halo line.
  • The eSIM profile remains on your device but is no longer active.

Any data usage on the final day follows the same pattern as every other day – full-speed amount first, then a slower speed if you exceed it.

How to continue coverage

If you are still travelling and need data beyond your current plan’s duration:

  1. Visit the Halo website while you still have a data connection or Wi-Fi.
  2. Go to Destinations and select the destination you need.
  3. Choose a new plan that covers your remaining trip.
  4. Complete checkout. You will receive a new QR code by email.
  5. Install the new eSIM profile on your device before your current plan expires.

The new plan is a separate eSIM with its own duration and daily full-speed amount. It does not carry over any status from the previous plan.

Install the new plan before the current one expires

To avoid a gap in coverage, purchase and install your new plan while your current plan is still active. If your current plan expires before you install the replacement, you will need Wi-Fi to access the Halo website and complete the purchase.

For installation instructions, see the setup guide for your device:

Managing multiple eSIM profiles

After installing your new plan, set it as the active data line on your device. You can remove the old profile or leave it in place.

iPhone: Open Settings > Cellular > Mobile Data. Select the new Halo eSIM line.

Samsung: Open Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Mobile data. Select the new Halo eSIM.

Pixel/Android: Open Settings > Network and internet > SIMs. Tap the new Halo eSIM and toggle Mobile data on.

If your plan has already expired

If your Unlimited plan has already ended and you no longer have a data connection, you will need Wi-Fi to purchase a new plan. See If your Halo eSIM has expired for more help.
