If your Halo eSIM shows signal bars but web pages will not load and apps cannot connect, your device is registered on a network but data is not flowing. Work through these checks in order.
Quick checks
1. Set the Halo eSIM as your data line
Your device may be routing data through your primary SIM instead of the Halo eSIM.
iPhone
Open Settings > Cellular > Mobile Data. Select the Halo eSIM line. Turn off Allow Mobile Data Switching. This prevents your device from falling back to your primary line.
Samsung
Open Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Mobile data. Select the Halo eSIM.
Pixel/Android
Open Settings > Network and internet > SIMs. Tap the Halo eSIM and toggle Mobile data on.
2. Enable data roaming
Data roaming must be enabled on the Halo eSIM line. This does not cause extra charges – your data plan already covers your destination.
iPhone
Open Settings > Cellular. Tap the Halo eSIM line. Turn on Data Roaming.
Samsung
Open Settings > Connections > SIM manager. Tap the Halo eSIM. Turn on Data roaming.
Pixel/Android
Open Settings > Network and internet > SIMs. Tap the Halo eSIM. Turn on Roaming.
3. Disable any VPN
If you have a VPN app running, turn it off temporarily. Some VPN configurations interfere with network routing on a new eSIM connection. Test your data connection without the VPN, then re-enable it if data works.
4. Check your remaining data allowance
If you have used all of your data allowance, the connection will stop working. Check your remaining data by following the steps in Check your remaining data.
If your allowance is used up, you can top up your data plan.
5. Restart your device
Power your device off completely, wait 10 seconds, then power it back on. This resets the network connection and often resolves data routing issues.
6. Reset network settings
If none of the above steps work, reset your network settings. This clears saved Wi-Fi passwords and Bluetooth connections but does not remove your eSIM profiles.
After resetting, reconnect to Wi-Fi and check whether mobile data works on the Halo line.
iPhone
Open Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Samsung
Open Settings > General management > Reset > Reset network settings.
Pixel/Android
Open Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile and Bluetooth.
