If your Halo eSIM shows “No Service” or “Searching” after you land at your destination, work through these steps. Most connections establish within five minutes of landing.
Quick checks
1. Wait a few minutes after landing
Your device needs time to detect and register on a local network. This can take up to five minutes after your plane lands and you disable airplane mode. Wait before troubleshooting further.
2. Turn off airplane mode
If you enabled airplane mode during your flight, turn it off now. Your device will begin searching for available networks.
iPhone
Open Control Centre and tap the airplane icon. Or open Settings and toggle Airplane Mode off.
Android
Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the airplane icon.
3. Confirm the Halo eSIM line is turned on
iPhone
Open Settings > Cellular. Make sure the Halo eSIM line is toggled on. Tap the Halo line and confirm Turn On This Line is enabled.
Samsung
Open Settings > Connections > SIM manager. Make sure the Halo eSIM is toggled on.
Pixel/Android
Open Settings > Network and internet > SIMs. Tap the Halo eSIM and confirm Use SIM is toggled on.
4. Enable data roaming on the Halo line
Most Halo data plans require data roaming to be enabled. This does not incur extra charges – your Halo data plan already includes international coverage.
iPhone
Open Settings > Cellular. Tap the Halo eSIM line. Turn on Data Roaming.
Samsung
Open Settings > Connections > SIM manager. Tap the Halo eSIM. Turn on Data roaming.
Pixel/Android
Open Settings > Network and internet > SIMs. Tap the Halo eSIM. Turn on Roaming.
5. Restart your device
Power your device off completely, wait 10 seconds, then power it back on. This forces a fresh network scan and resolves most post-landing connection issues.
6. Select a network manually
If automatic network selection is not finding a network, try selecting one manually.
iPhone
Open Settings > Cellular. Tap the Halo eSIM line. Tap Network Selection. Turn off Automatic. Wait for the list of available networks, then select one.
Samsung
Open Settings > Connections > Mobile networks. Turn off Auto select. Choose a network from the list.
Pixel/Android
Open Settings > Network and internet > SIMs. Tap the Halo eSIM. Tap Preferred network type, then tap Choose network. Turn off Auto select and choose a network.
7. Check your destination is covered
Open your order confirmation email and confirm the country you are in is included in your data plan. If you purchased a regional plan (e.g. Europe, Southeast Asia), check that your specific country is listed.
See Countries and regions covered by Halo eSIM for the full list.
