Every Halo data plan has a validity period that starts when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination. When the validity period ends, the data plan expires and the eSIM will no longer provide a data connection.
How to tell if your plan has expired
If your Halo eSIM previously worked but has stopped connecting, your data plan may have expired. Check the validity period in your order confirmation email.
Common signs of an expired plan:
- Your device shows signal bars but cannot load web pages
- The eSIM line shows “No Service” or disconnects from the network
- Your data usage shows the full allowance was not consumed but the connection stopped
What happens when a plan expires
When the validity period ends:
- The data connection stops, even if you have unused data remaining
- The eSIM profile stays on your device but is no longer active
- You can remove the expired profile from your device settings
Unused data from an expired plan does not roll over. Each data plan is independent.
How to get connected again
If you are still travelling and need more data, purchase a new Halo data plan for your destination. You will receive a new QR code to install.
You can keep the expired eSIM profile on your device or remove it. Removing it frees up an eSIM slot for the new profile. See your device’s setup guide for installation:
Before your next trip
Install your new Halo eSIM the day before you travel while you have a stable internet connection. The eSIM will activate automatically when you arrive at your destination.
